Mainland vs. Hong Kong Cantonese 

Cantonese is a language commonly spoken in Southern China. Even so, there are varieties within the single language. In this research, we focus on the different use of terms in Mainland China and Hong Kong whereas they are pronounced the same. 

Kongish, Code-mixing and Formal Chinese 

How do you write in Chinese? Most of the youngsters today either opt for code-mix or Kongish when texting. Kongish, as a prevalent internet language, is a hybrid language with Cantonese phonetics and English grammar. Let's see if our interviewees understood the varieties and how they prefer to use a particular one!
